The Sexton Scholarship is a fully endowed scholarship fund managed by the University of Tennessee Development Office and named after Richard Sexton, a devoted student athlete that played for UT in the 1970s. During his time at Tennessee, his efforts on and off the field were instrumental in the team’s success. His love of the game and willingness to do whatever needed to be done for his team was a shining example for all that knew him. Richard was killed in an industrial accident in 1080. Today, the scholarship is presented annual to those student athletes that best display those selfless characteristics for UT Rugby.
