Harris Named Program Manager

August 01, 2022 (Knoxville, Tennessee) The University of Tennessee Men’s Rugby and the Volunteer Rugby Foundation are pleased to announce the appointment of Steven Harris as the Program Manager.  Harris assumes this new role on August 01.

The Program Manager is responsible for the administrative and operational matters of the men’s rugby club of the University of Tennessee. This position will coordinate activities and programming with the team, the Volunteer Rugby Foundation, and university departments.

This position is a contract employee of the Volunteer Rugby Foundation and supervised and managed by the UT Rugby Director of Rugby. Additionally, the Volunteer Rugby Foundation provides full allowance and reimbursement for all approved and related expenses.

Steven Harris started playing rugby while at Oakland High School in Murfreesboro and continued by playing for the Volunteers while earning his degree at the University of Tennessee.  While at UT he also was a ROTC Cadet and a member of the Tennessee Army National Guard which included a deployment to Afghanistan.  After graduation Steven spent 4 years as an officer in the US Army at Ft Campbell and South Korea.  

Following an internship with Lindenwood Rugby, Harris returns to Knoxville to assume the role of Program Manager and will also be earning his MBA from the University of Tennessee.
