2023 UT Old Boys Weekend

The 2023 UT Old Boys Weekend will be held August 25-26 and will feature all of the familiar events of the past plus a few new surprises. Make plans to return to Knoxville to celebrate another great year of rugby at the University of Tennessee.  

The cost to attend the weekend is $100. That includes the Friday reception, Saturday match and meal, and of course a fine selection of swag to help you commemorate the event. Registration is required in advance and then you will be able to check in to pick up everything you need for the weekend at the Friday night reception.

Volunteer Rugby Old Boys Golf Tournament
A Noon shot gun start at Knoxville Municipal Golf Course at 3925 Schaad Road in Knoxville.

7 PM to 9 PM – light food and beverage tickets are provided until 9 PM.

SATURDAY, AUGUST 26
UT Rugby v UT Old Boys

Noon: Team Organization – get there early if you want your 15 minutes of glory. Otherwise, bring a chair and some shade and enjoy the afternoon which promises to be the hottest day of the year on and off the pitch.

1:00 PM: Kickoff of first of undetermined 15 minute periods.

3:00 PM: Old Boy Mug ceremony for the seniors for 2023. Help us honor these newest Old Boys in a ceremony right after the match.

4:00 PM: D & B’s Hot Dogs and Burgers again will be on site for an afternoon meal to finish off the day.

That evening you are welcome and encouraged to hang out at the field for a little rugby golf; horseshoes, cornhole and/or its off to you own planned gatherings with your teammates

2023 Volunteer Rugby Gala and Award Banquet

The 2023 VRF Gala and Awards Banquet will be held on Saturday, May 6 at the Knoxville Convention Center.  Dinner begins at 6 PM and the awards ceremony at 7 PM.  Cost to attend will be $40 per person.

All family, friends, alumni, supporters, and friends of the program are welcome and encouraged to attend and join in the celebration of another great year of rugby at the University of Tennessee.

Phonathon Returns for 2023

The Volunteer Rugby Foundation began the 2023 Phonathon this week with VRF Board Members partnering with UT Rugby undergraduates to reach out to UT Rugby alumni. The students are sharing news of the current team and recent accomplishments while the board member is outlining the support that VRF provides to Tennessee Rugby.

The VRF Phone-a-thon has a goal of $30,000 in pledges to support Men’s Rugby at the University of Tennessee.
